The Brief:

The brief was to transform an unusually shaped loft space into a welcoming and professional office for Bewealth, a financial advisory company.

The existing architecture required careful consideration, with sloping ceilings, exposed beams and restricted areas of head height all influencing how the space could be used. The layout therefore needed to be carefully considered to accommodate everyday working, client meetings, a boardroom area, storage and a small kitchenette, while making the most of every available area.

It was also important that the finished office reflected the Bewealth brand and felt professional and considered, without becoming overly corporate.

The Design:

The unusual proportions of the loft played an important part in the design. Rather than trying to work around standard-sized furniture, bespoke desks and a boardroom table were made by a carpenter sourced through Etsy, along with a coordinating console table. This allowed the furniture to work with the restrictions of the beams and make much better use of the available floor space.

The company’s branding provided the starting point for the colour scheme, with the main feature wall colour-matched to the blue of the Bewealth logo.

A leather Chesterfield sofa from Evelyn Lily Interiors introduced warmth and character, while boardroom chairs from Kairo Living and desk chairs from Dunelm provided practical seating for the different working areas. Laura Ashley table lamps added softer lighting and helped create a more welcoming atmosphere.

Artwork from John Lewis depicting trees was chosen to represent growth, reflecting the nature of the investment business. This idea was continued with a money plant from Prickle Plants — a subtle reference to the company’s work and another way of bringing life into the office.

A compact kitchenette was incorporated into the scheme, providing the essentials for staff breaks while taking up minimal space within the challenging layout.

The Result:

A professional and welcoming workspace that makes effective use of an unusually shaped loft interior. Bespoke furniture and careful space planning allowed the restrictions created by the beams and sloping ceilings to become part of the character of the office rather than a limitation.

The company’s signature blue, together with leather, artwork, planting and softer decorative details, gives the office its own identity, while subtle references to growth and investment connect the interior to the Bewealth brand.
